Discover a heart-warming romance, a thrilling mystery and an exciting journey for two people who never thought to find love. Meet the first Scandalous Son and the woman who tames him in this new series by Adele Clee.

A chance meeting changed everything. Damian Wycliff, the illegitimate son of the Marquis of Blackbeck—and notorious rogue—loathes most people. With a heart as dark as his Mediterranean looks, his cynical view of the world is challenged when a woman comes to his aid in a dark alley. In his world, kindness is a rare quality. Was that why he made the rash oath, a sworn promise to play the knight errant should she ever need assistance?

The lady calls in the debt. Having spent three years wondering what happened to his mysterious saviour, Damian is horrified to discover the angel who saved his life is none other than the scandalous Scarlet Widow—a lady he should despise along with the other fake people who hide behind masks. So why can he not shake the memory of the sweet woman whose benevolence touched his heart? Why is he desperate to discover if she still exists beneath the daring disguise?

A promise never forgotten.

Someone wants Scarlett Steele dead. After surviving the numerous attempts made on her life, she no longer knows who to trust. But one man made a vow—a solemn promise to come to her aid. So when she seeks the help of the devilishly handsome Damian Wycliff, it soon becomes apparent that she isn’t the only one hiding behind a façade. Does Wycliff possess the means to save her if the villain strikes again? Will lowering their guards give them both a chance of finding true love?

This book contains steamy sex scenes and the occasional use of obscenities.

And the Widow Wore Scarlet

Scandalous Sons book 1

by Adele Clee

WOW! Just Wow! This was such an emotional rollercoaster of a story! A gritty second chance at love full of passion, sorrow, betrayals, villains bent on murder, mystery and intrigue, hope, and a love so deep that never dies. I’m a HUGE fan of Adele Clee her books are keepers, they never disappoint!

As the illegitimate son of the Marquis of Blackbeck Damian Wycliff has been on a mission of shocking the ton by any scandalous means. Hoping he’ll bring shame to the father that shunned his mother. So when a young woman comes to his aid and saves him from bleeding to death in an alley, his damaged an broken heart makes a connection with her. He gives her his most sacred possession and tells her that if ever she needs anything from him not to hesitate to ask for his help. Three years later the Scarlet Widow comes to collect on that long ago promise.

Scarlet Steele has spent the last three horrific years of her life in terror, she married a vile abusive man for protection. Once again she fears for her life, someone is trying to kill her and the only man to save her is Damian Wycliff, the man she’s kept close to her heart, the man she should of seekEd out in the first place.

Damian and Scarlet have a rocky beginning but the connection they have is strong, Damian is shocked to see the extent of her pain inflicted by her abusive husband. He steps up to the plate and becomes the man she knows is hiding deep within, the man she fell in love with while tending to his wounds.

I wasn’t expecting the identity or the motive of the villain, Adele Clee really kept me guessing. I enjoyed the plot tremendously, definitely a page turner, the secondary characters were interesting and can’t wait to read all about their story. I wonder who is putting the fresh flowers on the grave? And why? I’m so anticipating the next amazing story in this PHENOMENAL new series!

I received a complimentary copy from the author. This is my honest unbiased opinion.

About the Book:

Lady Clarissa has decided to live life on her terms. After the end of a ten-year betrothal, she wants nothing to do with marriage or the men of the ton. Least of all her friend’s brother, the very charming Lord Markham, or Hearts, as many ladies call the oh-so-handsome earl.

Markham pursues relationships with no ties that bind. Acting the rake leaves everyone satisfied...until he overhears a wager that could lead to Clarissa’s ruin. He can’t help but step in and claim she’s his intended bride.

Clarissa is appalled. She did not need to be saved. Reluctantly, she agrees to the fake courtship, if only to experience what the rakish Markham can offer. But when lust becomes love, Clarissa must make up her own terms and bet it all on Hearts.

A few moments ago, Clarissa had chosen to eavesdrop, fully understanding that, if caught, she’d suffer embarrassment. She hadn’t understood her peril. Embarrassment was tripping on one’s petticoat, missing a crumb at the corner of one’s mouth. Crushing her nemesis’s cravat with a rouge-darkened cheek and leaving behind a bright pink imprint on his starched linen shirt wasn’t mere embarrassment. It was complete humiliation. She’d attempted to avoid the collision by ducking into the adjacent servants’ stair, but Markham had been moving with uncharacteristic singleness of purpose, and she hadn’t time to avoid his chest. His uncommonly broad chest. A chest with a cheek-sized valley conveniently situated over his rapidly beating heart. The edge of his collar tickled her nose. She sniffed and was engulfed by his scent. Spicy and dark…rather like tea.

The richly steeped kind that lingered on the tongue, hot and tart. Tasty. Warming from the inside out. Just like she was warming right now. She jerked back, pinched her lips, and glanced up. His pupils were still wide from the darkness outside. Rain had dampened his amber hair into the color of newly fired brick. Much to her dismay, those dimples that never ceased to raise her ire failed to appear.

He exhaled harshly. “One hundred and fifty-one.” “Pardon?” He shook his head involuntarily. A rain droplet transferred to her cheek. “Never mind.” He released his grip on her elbow, and the room swayed, absent his sturdy support. She stepped toward him, and he stepped back. Well, then. Did he find her that abhorrent? She stepped forward again. The door clanged shut as his back hit the wood. Obviously.

“I hadn’t realized you needed to collect more evidence of my want of character,” he said acidly. “Did you hear anything of interest?” She held his gaze, blinking. Markham was glib. He was infuriatingly patronizing. He was far too confident. But never before had he sounded bitter.

She cleared her throat. “I don’t know what you are—” “Oh?” he interrupted. “I suppose you were just searching for the ladies retiring room…in a house where you’ve been a guest for the last eighteen months.” “Not quite eighteen,” she pointed out. “I did accompany you and your sisters to Bromton Castle last summer.” Recognition flared behind his eyes—a brief remembrance of the uneasy truce they’d called while trying to distract Julia from remembering her broken heart. She’d seen a different side to Markham, then. But that didn’t change the fact that he moved through the world totally at ease, rarely serious, taking the admiration of his widows as his due.

And I’ve had quite enough of men who think only of themselves, thank you. She lifted her chin. “For shame, Markham—stealing away from a party, no doubt arranging another sordid liaison.” His eyes flashed. “Not tonight, Clarissa.” Bitterness again. She searched his eyes—bleak, if she were not mistaken. She had the odd desire to run her fingers through his damp hair and pinch those sharply angled cheeks until the impish grin she hated returned.

“What’s happened?” she asked. He sighed. “I just want to go back inside and—” “You can’t.” He lifted his brows. “I can’t?” “I’m afraid”—her cheeks heated—“my rouge has stained your collar.” He glanced down, sucked in, and slumped his shoulders. Again, the baffling urge to hold him.

“If you would make my apologies to Lady Darlington, I fear I must return home and…” He snorted. “…change.” “Markham—” “Later, Clarissa. Please. I haven’t the fortitude to suffer your quips at the moment.” Her jaw dropped open.

“Well—good night.” He pursed his lips and dropped his gaze to her feet. “And you needn’t wear any rouge, you know. You are just fine”—he flushed—“the way you are.” He turned on his heel and went back out the door. Clarissa touched her cheek. Just fine the way she was? Since when did Markham spend time considering the color of her cheeks?

The Bourne Matrimonial Agency has one rule:

Never fall in love with the client.

However, they never said anything about kissing a rake… Briar Bourne’s matchmaking career could be summed up in two words—comic disaster. Unless she can learn about the irresistible forces that draw men and women together, her professional future looks rather bleak. But Briar has an intriguing plan—enlisting London’s most irredeemable rake to teach her everything he knows about attraction.

Given his notorious reputation, it’s no surprise that Nicholas Blacklowe, the Earl of Edgemont, requests one thing in exchange for his tutelage. For every lesson, he wants a kiss in return. And what harm could there be in a simple kiss? After all, Briar would never fall for a scoundrel… Nicholas has no romantic notions about love, and no intention of changing his ways. He’s only helping Briar so that she can find the perfect bride for his jilted cousin. Yet Briar is so clever, so curious, so candid—so blasted tempting—that soon, Nicholas can’t stop wondering what it might be like if he was irresistible to her. Ten lessons. Ten kisses. And a million ways to fall hopelessly, scandalously in love.

Ten Kisses to Scanda

by Vivienne Lorret

Bourne has messed up, not only did she lose a client she unwittingly made the agency a laughing stock! All she needs now is to prove that she’s able and capable of redeeming the agency, and herself. She neeeds something big, something monumental .....what if she can find a match for a notorious rake someone like Nicholas Blacklowe, the Earl of Edgemont!

But first she needs help in finding the true attraction between men and women. Who else better experienced that Nicholas himself? But with every advice given her payment is a kiss- how deliciously scandalous! When innocent flirting and hot kisses turn to something more she realizes that more than the reputation of the agency is at stake. She could very well lose her heart!

I soooo loved Briar she’s sassy, witty and innocence all wrapped up in a beautiful package. And Nicholas was so into Briar I believe he had fallen a little bit in love with her the first time they met. Together they just sizzled! I loved their tension and chemistry. I loved watching them fall in love.

A well written and fast paced story! I can’t wait to read the next one in this series! I recieved a complimentary copy from the author, via Edelweiss. This is my honest unbiased opinion.

Highlander of My Heart

Macardle Sisters of Courage Book 1

by Donna Fletcher

This was EPIC! Donna Fletcher has a new winner with this new series, it hit all the marks and feels for me. Intriguing full of mystery, villains and their cohorts and plenty of sizzle! Sorrell Macardle is a force to be reckoned with, she’s feisty and doesn’t back down from a challenge. She’s fierce with protecting those she loves and always defends the unfortunate ones. Her forceful nature compensates her petite stature. Unfortunate for her, her stepbrother James has arrange a betrothal to save their clan and Sorrell wants nothing to do with the man and the marriage, only fate and a miracle can save her.

John has been looking for answers to the lies that ruined his life, looking for a man that might hold the answers, he stops at clan Macardle for some solitude. Instead he comes across a whirlwind of a woman besting a lad twice her size! What’s a man to do but save the woman, and the more he gets to know Sorrell the more she steals his heart.

John might very well be the miracle Sorrell has been wishing for. Being caught in a compromising situation finds Sorrell marrying John. What she never expected was her new husband wasn’t who he claimed to be!

Donna Fletcher is a master at writing intriguing plots, she keeps you on edge with very entertaining alpha males and the women that bring them to their knees. I loved loved Sorrell she definitely is no wilting flower she’s her husbands perfect match. The hero is absolutely swoon worthy and their chemistry just sizzled the pages! As always when I pick up a Donna Fletcher novel I always read it in one sitting. I HIGHLY recommend this new book. Can’t wait to read the next one!

Between the Devil and the Duke

The Duke’s Secret

book 4 by Eva Devon

I LOVED LOVED Between the Devil and the Duke! I clearly have to say that this was such an enthralling read! Eva Devon can do no wrong!

Annabelle and Tristan were just amazing characters, Tristan is the dark brooding hero with only one thing on his mind - revenge, nothing and no one will stand in his way. Fate has a way of changing destiny and plans don’t always work out the way they’re anticipated.

Annabelle, Annabelle what can I say? She’s a warrior but yet oh so fragile. A woman emotionally and physically abused, used as a pawn by her brutal fiend of an uncle! Her spirit could never be broken. I loved her feisty character and how she found strength from the night sky and the stars. She believed herself tainted, unworthy of love and happiness.

Not a word wasted and every chapter so intelligently written, the main characters will not be forgotten anytime soon. This story has everything - angst, heartache twists and turns, deplorable villains and a very satisfying happily ever after.

I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this story, although part of a series it can be read as a stand alone.

Her Midnight Sin

A Shadow and Silk book 3

by Sofia Darling

What a captivating story, Callie is the widowed Viscountess St.Alban who after her husbands death is in charge of her home the Grange. Although a difficult task she persevered and made a life for her self. Until an unexpected problem puts her heart, home and livelihood at risk.

Struck by malaria he’s recuperating at the Grange. His luck is about to change and he might just have the chance at acquiring the home he’s always wanted.

A well written story that flowed well. The main characters were likeable and their chemistry was a slow burn. Overall this story was intriguing with many twists and turns. I enjoyed the verbal dialogue, plenty of obstacles were overcome for a well deserved happily ever after.
